Traveling to Japan versus traveling to Thailand with peanuts allergies is quite different. Because peanuts are not considered a stample of the Japanese diet like rice of seafood, it is generally safer in Japan for those with peanut allergies. Thailand is just the opposite. It's not that Thai food has peanuts in every prepared food but that they are more commonly found in sauces or Pad Thai or as garnishes. And peanuts will be found in open containers close to other food with street vendors and restaurants so cross contamination is more of a concern. Here is a short note sent by one of our many customers.
"Hello. I ordered cards for my son who has a peanut allergy a year and a half ago when he travelled to Japan and he said they worked great. People took the utmost care after reading your SelectWisely peanut allergy translation card.
He's traveling to Thailand now and it might be more difficult as peanuts are more common there - however, it will give him peace of mind that he can show your allergy cards with the Thai translation.
Thank you for your service, it is really appreciated!
